On January 13, 2022, the IoT international organization World Internet of Things Convention, known as WIOTC, convened the year 2021 annual conference in Beijing, China. Themed "Creating the New Pattern of IoT Era, Building the New Economy of IoT World", this year's convention brought important activities to the fore, including Summit Forum, Ambassador Forum High-end Dialogue, State Promotion Meeting, Innovation and Application Forum with multiple thematic sessions involving IoT industry, agriculture, transportation and auto intelligence, smart energy, healthcare, and IoT standard, and World IoT Top 500 Enterprises Summit. During the conference, the organizer debuted its 2021 World Internet of Things White Paper and IoT International Convention Organization Articles, and 2021 World IoT Ranking List Top 500 and 2021 World IoT Awards were also released to the world. It is estimated from all channels that nearly ten million guests and viewers, comprising leaders, ambassadors and counselors of government agencies as well as academician experts, scholars, corporate and media representatives from more than 80 countries and regions, attended and watched this annual event. Liang Zi, Vice Chairman of the WIOTC Executive Committee and Spokeswoman, hosted the whole conference.

Shahbaz Khan, Director of UNESCO Office in Beijing, Sirous Vatankhah Moghaddam, President of Center for Progress and Development of Islamic Republic of Iran and Andreas Dripke, Global Chairman of the Diplomatic Council respectively gave video speeches, in which they mentioned that IoT infrastructure construction and economic innovative development represent the defining tide and trend of social progress and development of mankind, and at the same time, they are another great transformation and game-changing revolution for the world economy and society. "We are in dire need of a global IoT organization like WIOTC that is innovative to coordinate with government agencies and enterprises from all countries in a common endeavor to promote the infrastructure construction and industrial economic development of global internet of things", they added.

H.E. Rodrigo Duterte, President of the Republic of the Philippines, together with the President Office of the European Commission, sent congratulatory messages to the Chairman Office of WIOTC, expressing their wishes for the success of 2021 World Internet of Things Convention.

He Xuming, Chairman of the WIOTC Executive Committee, summed up in his keynote report that the development of world internet of things has seen a process of concept hype, application and experiment, development of industrial system platform, network infrastructure construction and industrial application and innovative development. "We are at the crossroad to build the new economic market of internet of things", he mentioned. The report said that China is at the global forefront of developing internet of things, leading the way with construction of IoT infrastructure and industrial applications and exploration.  "Despite the impact of COVID-19, China has built 1,4 million 5G base stations. China's GDP is expected to expand more than 8 percent to hit over 18 trillion US dollars in 2021. The output value of internet of things is projected to outpace 2 trillion yuan (314 billion USD) in China this year, said the chairman. He observed that the USA boasts great strength, which is well reflected in the research and development of cutting-edge technology and high-end chips, and the country has also proposed the incentive plan of 200 billion US dollars in this regard. In addition to this, countries such as Germany, the United States, French, UK, Netherlands, Japan, Iran and South Korea have experienced intelligent upgrading in terms of industrial IoT and chip production and manufacturing. "The output value of digital economy of global internet of things is estimated to exceed 8 trillion US dollars, achieving the annual growth rate of over 20 percent", he continued. "To achieve the interconnection of all things, the connection is the basis, interconnectivity the key, ecological system the goal, and IoT new economy the core", the chairman stressed. He told the conference that Internet of Things should be positioned as an ecological network of smart world combining informatization, digitalization and intelligence and as a carrier of global new economy where a new generation of information technology and digital economy and real economy integrate deeply with one another. "World Internet of Things Convention will bring into full play its role as an IoT international organization, ready to admit all government agencies into the IoT international organization as members of its Presidium in order to formulate the IoT International Convention on the basis of consultation under the framework of the United Nations, protect the rights and interests of all countries and the privacy of people's life, thus fundamentally addressing the issue of global connection. ", he concluded.

Shi Dinghuan, Executive Chairman of the WIOTC Executive Committee, made explanations on the new version of White Paper at the conference. "The 2021 World Internet of Things White Paper released during the convention provides forward-looking and inspiring opinions on the cognition, definition, top-level architecture, industrial economy system, new economic model and economic market building of internet of things in a totally novel way", Shi observed. Proceeding from a historical vision and perspective of world economic and social development and progress, the new edition of World IoT White Paper provides a complete and clear elaboration of the cognition, definition, attribute, and theoretical basis of new internet of things. Containing the key issues of IoT construction, IoT new economic model, and development of globalized market, the work also expounds the development direction of IoT basic network, with a focus on presenting the basic structure and requirements of visualized real-time tracking and post-hoc tracing based on the architecture and system of internet of things. The organization is committed to carrying out the goal and task of coordinating with all countries to formulate the IoT International Convention under the framework of the United Nations, building a global market of IoT new economy, delivering benefits to world people in terms of intelligent and smart life and work and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals". "WIOTC is starting to welcome government agencies, scientific and technological institutions, social organizations and enterprises from all countries and regions in the world to apply for the membership of the organization's Presidium for the purpose of jointly formulating the IoT International Convention," he suggested. Su elaborated on the conditions, rights, interests and rules of procedure of joining the organization.

Li Bohu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, made a keynote report on the system of smart internet of things. He explained "Smart IoT Research and Initial Practices" based upon the new era, new situation and new journey, outlining the connotation, system, architecture, technological, key technology of new type of IoT system — "Smart IoT". In addition, Li introduced the applied scenes and practical cases of smart IoT system developed by some teams of project department of Chinese Academy of Engineering in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, energy, medical care, traffic and environmental protection. In particular, he said that the technology, architecture, economic model of new IoT will cover all areas of "national economy, people's livelihood and national security; and its system, model, and technological approach and mode of business are greatly changing towards the new model, new technology and new mode of business of digitalization, networking, cloud, and intelligence, which can be simply understood as a new type of IoT building and IoT new economy.

Liu Jianguo, Global Chief Digital Technology Officer of Haier Smart Home, gave a speech with the topic of "Haier Smart Home, Better Life", explaining that Haier Smart Home Platform is an ecological system of public life of internet of things, an innovative model of new economy and a new initiative of a better and smart life for people.

Zhang Qi, Vice Chairman of the WIOTC Executive Committee and former Secretary of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of P.R.C, delivered a wonderful speech related to the exploration and practice of IoT in China. She pointed out that the construction of information in China has laid the basis of application for the construction and development of internet of things, adding that the State Office of Golden Card led experts to compile China's first series of books generally referred to as "IoT in China", which are systematic and instructive.

As the highlight of this annual conference, the Ambassador Forum was held in the form of high-end dialogue. During the forum, Armenian Ambassador to China H.E. Sergey Manasaryan, Benin Ambassador to China H.E. Simon Pierre Adoveland, UAE Ambassador to China H.E. Ali AI Dhaheri, Jordanian Ambassador to China H.E. Hosted by Liu Meixi, Host of "Guest Embassy" Program, the State Promotion Session of this convention was joined by Ambassador of Barbados to China H.E. Hallam Henry, Ambassador of Salvador to China H.E. ALDONOV FRANKEKO ÁLVAREZ and Ambassador of Myanmar to China H.E. At the same time, the launch ceremony of Online Exhibition and Live Streaming Center of the IoT World Fair was held during the conference. Being appointed as WIOT Ambassador of Communication, Liu Meixi showed that she will perform her due duty and responsibility for acting as the WIOT Ambassador and said she will play a good role in the center. The center will do its best to provide friendly cooperation services for the exchanges of trade and culture of all countries in the world.

He Qiang, Vice Chairman of the WIOTC Executive Committee and Executive Secretary-General, released the list of 2021 World IoT Top 500 Enterprises. He noted that the work of application, selection, and release of World Internet of Things Ranking List (WIOTRL) will be carried out every year and the list has been released in consecutive five years. The WIOTRL has been paid attention to and recognized by UN agencies, IoT organizations, experts, scholars and international committee and attracted the active involvement of more than 100 thousand enterprises from 80 plus countries of the world. He said that Huawei has been topping the list for five years, hoping that all enterprises on the list can make more contributions to the economic and social development of world internet of things in a common effort to contribute to the building of a smart and intelligent world where all things are interconnected.

At the World IoT Top 500 Enterprises Summit, corporate representatives, including Zhang Hongli, COO of the Department of Industrial Development Ecology of Huawei, Wang Zhicheng, Member of Technology Committee of China Telecom, and Liu Hengjin, Tencent Cloud IoT Technological Expert, made impressive speeches at the summit, which are relevant to the exploration and expectation of new infrastructure of internet of things, digitalizing transformation of industry and upgrading of digital intelligence as well as the innovative application outcomes and future development of internet of things.

In their thematic speeches, Zhao Chunjiang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xu Zhenyu, Chairman of Anhui Longcom IoT Co., Ltd, Ding Wenpeng, Representative of Beijing Goke Agriculture and Husbandry Machinery Co., Ltd, Hou Ning, General Manager of Zhiyuntiandi Agricultural Information Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd, Zhang Qi, Secretary-General of Dragon Design Foundation and Chu Jian, President of Ningbo Industrial Internet Institute respectively discussed the innovation and application of internet of things in the fields of agriculture, energy and industry. The release ceremony of 2021 World IoT Awards made the conference reach the climax. The thematic speeches relating to IoT transportation and Auto intelligence, IoT healthcare, and IoT standard were respectively made by Song Pinghui, Vice Chairman of Huatie Media Group, Zhang Yunfei, Chief Scientist of Tencent Smart Transportation, Liu Songwei, Associate Professor of School of Vehicle and Mobility Tsinghua University and Assistant to the Dean of Tsinghua Automotive Strategy Research Center, Zhu Yuexia, Honorary Chairperson of General Assembly of Macao Medical Federation and Honorary Advisor for Macao Kiang Wu Hospital and Wang Lijian, CTO of China Electronics Standardization Institute, who shared their practical outcomes and views in relevant areas.
